Bongil Bongil National Park VKFF-0042

After activating Dorrigo National Park in the morning drove back down to Coffs Harbour, and to my next park Bongil Bongil National Park VKFF-0042. Chose to go to the Bongil Picnic area at the end of Williams Rd. Got to the park gate, a worrying sign that it is closed from 7 am to 7 pm, so not a park to stay in after dark... At least still had several hours left to activate.

The road ends in a loop around a picnic area. I was the only one here, so set up on a picnic table with lots of room for an 80 m dipole.

Shack on the picnic table

Got on 40 m. The band was good

Returned to 40 m for another P2P with VK2IO/8 Gerard in VKFF-1263 Trephina Gorge Nature Park

Had a quick look at the park. Nearby Bongil Creek

A sign about the parks earliest inhabitants and the park name.

Some of the vegetation in the park, nice tree ferns
