WWFF Wilson Nature Reserve VKFF-2765

Driving between Tenterfield and Ballina on the Buxner Hwy, entered the town of Lismore. This had one small park in the town itself, Wilson Nature Reserve, VKFF-2765. This park has only been recently added to the WWFF list so a first activation.

Drove along City View Dr, until spotting a big water reservoir close to the park. Drove into a parking area nearby and walked around the side, a gate and a sign for the park here.

A bit of an explore found a large open area on the other side of the reservoir. Carried my gear there and set up using the park fence for squid pole support.

Looking back the other way. Most of the reserve is thick rain forest, In fact the park is a rare remnant of 'The Big Scrub', where thick rain forest covered most of the area that is now cleared farm land.

Shack on the table. The sun was gradually setting so getting shade from the reservoir. Didn't mind as it was quite warm, in the mid 20s.

Got on 40 m. This was a new park so was a real pileup!

Most signals good, although with the sun setting the band was going 'long' and a lack of close by VK4s and VK2s. Bill VK4FW for example a weak 41 signal.

Packed up before the sun set, and drove about another half hour to accommodation in Ballina for the evening.
