WWFF Richmond Range National Park VKFF-0301

After stopping overnight at Tenterfield headed back to the NSW coast via the Buxner Hwy. After Mallanganee there are 2 parks, North and South of the highway, I headed to the Northern park first, Richmond Range National Park. The drive into this park is quite scenic, following a narrow ridge line road through farms, until reaching the park.

Headed for Cambridge Plateau, a large open area with picnic tables and signs about the park.

Set up at one of the picnic tables. Used my picket stake in the ground nearby for squid pole support.

Shack on the table. Good spot for morning tea.

A few others arrived, including a park ranger, who had an interest in radios. He used to work in fire fighting at Stromlo so knew my home well.

Got on 40 m. After spotting myself on ParksnPeak got a steady stream of park hunters calling:

14 contacts so qualified for VKFF. Headed off to the next park to the South, Mallanganee National Park.
