WWFF Moonee Beach Nature Reserve VKFF-1966

Spending a couple of nights at Coffs Harbour, activated 3 parks for WWFF in a day. The first park activated in the morning was Moonee Beach Nature Reserve VKFF-1966. It is close to the Coffs Harbour suburb of Emerald Beach to the North of the city.  Drove to the end of Dammerel Cr. Sign for the park.

Drove to the car park at the end of the road. Carried the gear to an area in the scrub down from the car park, set up off the walking tracks and away from walkers.

Shack on the table.

Even though partly hidden in the scrub one of the park rangers spotted my squid pole and came down to see what I was up to. Satisfied it was just playing amateur radio. He had encountered it before with a group activating South Solitary Island off the coast here.

Got on 40 m. The usual park hunters called.

After 15 contacts callers seemed to have stopped so packed up. I wanted to actually have a look at the park as well as activate it...  Walked out along the Headland walk to a trig with a terrific view. Looking North

Looking South

Looking East to South Solitary Island off the coast, an IOTA island.
