Wongarbon Nature Reserve VKFF-2025

After activating Beni Nature Reseve near Dubbo it was only a short drive to my next park, Wongarbon Nature Reserve VKFF-2025. Sign for the park.

There was a locked gate on the nearby road into the reserve, however a gap for walkers was there. Carried my gear in and set up using the sign for squid pole support

Radio on the table. The rain I had at the last park had stopped for the moment.

It had started raining again so quickly packed up, headed to Wellington for lunch, then drove home to Canberra. Rained on and off for the rest of the day.

Pilliga Nature Reserve VKFF-2702

After lunch at Coonabarabran, drove NE towards Narrabri on the Newell Hwy.. Stopped for a while at the Sandstone Caves, doing a nice loop walk. The caves were in Pilliga Nature Reserve but didn't see a suitable spot to activate as many tourists there. Continued on to a rest area, Yamminba Rest Area. After afternoon tea there saw a sign nearby for Pilliga Nature Reserve VKFF-2702.

I followed the road behind the sign, another sign indicating no vehicles. 

Turned around and set up the radio just off the road, behind the first sign. Openstreetmap of the operating spot.

Note this section of the park is close to Pilliga East State Conservation Area. With more time you could activate this park as well.
